Benedicte Aubert Ringnes (b.1981) has a background from the film industry as a director and producer on international price winning feature films, commercials and music videos.
When she attended film school, she began experimenting in Photoshop to develop and visualize her ideas. Her interest in Photoshop grew steadily and she immersed herself in studies of arts as part of her Master in filmmaking.
Though film and visual expression she finally found her own expression in art. She experiments with collages of famous personalities, historical moments and iconic symbols using techniques from classical art and modern technology, techniques she has taken from digital graphics and film.
Aubert Ringnes draws the motifs herself and when the work has been completed in Photoshop its printed and mounted on large wooden self-designed wooden boxes before she finally covers the work and frame with an thick, UV-varnish, giving the work a glossy result.
