Tommy K. Syversbråten

Tommy K. Syversbråten (b. 1986) is an autodidact artist with a hyper realistic expression. His meticulously painted artwork is heavily inspired by the surrounding area of the alpine village of Hemsedal in Norway where he grew up.

Mountains and landscapes are carefully rendered, while the foreground views of cartoon characters give the expression of pop-art sentiment. At first, the motifs seem to have a humorous tone, but underneath there is a sense of melancholy, a feeling of a bygone childhood and lost time which give the paintings a dualistic feeling.

The wealth of detail in Syversbråten’s paintings are so great that a painting can take months to complete.
